Cybersecurity, also known as computer security or information technology security, is a field that integrates knowledge, tools, and systems to monitor and protect data and systems, as well as to prevent and/or mitigate threats.

Our People are the difference

Our faculty and staff know how difficult starting or resuming college can be. With a Christlike mindset, we are here to support your success throughout your program.

YOU SHOULD KNOW

  • Fulfill 60* credit hours
  • Attend class entirely online

Cybersecurity professionals prescribe and use policies, procedures, and technology to address natural events, hackers, cyber terrorists, and technical problems that could compromise the confidentiality, integrity, or accessibility of systems and data. Their goal is to lower the overall risk profile of companies and organizations.

Our Associate of Applied Science in Cybersecurity can prepare you to enter the rapidly-growing fields of information assurance, information security analyst, network security, security policy analyst, and cybersecurity.

A 2016 regional analysis of the Kansas City job market shows that employers are seeking information technology professionals. A associate’s-level computer information systems degree can prepare you to enter or move up in this industry sector. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, computer and information technology occupations are projected to grow annually by 13% from 2016 to 2026, faster than the combined average for all occupations.

MNU is situated in the heart of the Silicon Prairie and with our alumni connections at companies like Cerner, Garmin, Nokia and T-Mobile, you’ll be strategically situated for valuable networking and job opportunities.
